Hand-coded in 2016.
Built with agents in 2026.

Then, a Raspberry Pi till for my family’s restaurant. Now, native Apple apps, browser games and small, dependency-light web tools for tennis, sleep, chess and 11+ exam prep, built alongside LLM coding agents.

Farboard

Chess with a friend, near or far.

Create an invite, your opponent scans a QR code, and you each play on your own device. End-to-end encrypted moves, take-back and draw requests, and games that survive reloads, sleeping phones and patchy networks.

Companion: ChessTracker mirrors a game played with real pieces on a real table — legal moves, notation and material count, no engine.

Companion: 11+ Maths Vault — “Walk Mode” verbal questions on the go, “Desk Mode” written ones at home.

The Small Agent Stack

A modular alternative to an all-in-one agent setup.

A plain-language guide to replacing a bundled OpenClaw install with independent parts — Pi for the agent and sessions, cron for schedules, Telegram for messaging, cost tracking — plus a migration prompt and a sourced essay on the trade-offs.

Cloudflare migration complete · six club simulations run

DeuceLeague Beta testing

Open-source club tennis league software.

Right now: migrated to Cloudflare, with one Worker and one D1 database per club in place of a Docker and Postgres VPS. Six simulations of a 150-member club are complete, and the project has reached beta testing.

Players see their matches and tables, report scores and agree results from their phones, while the coach runs the league with a coding agent. Underneath is an OpenAPI-described HTTP API, so anyone can build a website, app or bot on top, with a reference player website and a coach’s site included.

A Pipsta thermal printer on a Raspberry Pi printing order tickets in the restaurant kitchen

PiOrder

A Raspberry Pi till, kitchen printer and online ordering system that ran my father’s restaurant for three and a half years.

Tablets for waiters, Pipsta printers at the bar and in the kitchen, Stripe for online payments — and no database, just files, Bash, Awk and cron. Featured in The MagPi, issue 57.
