Conquer every territory on the map. After setup, each turn has three phases.
Setup
In the standard setup, players take turns claiming one empty (grey) territory each, placing one army on it, until the whole map is claimed.
Players then keep taking turns, adding one army at a time to their own territories, until everyone has placed all their starting armies (46 each for 2 players, 40 for 3, 34 for 4, 29 for 5, 25 for 6).
You can instead have territories dealt at random, or deal and place everything at random to start playing straight away.
1 · Reinforce
Receive armies equal to your territories ÷ 3 (minimum 3), plus a bonus for every region you hold completely.
Trade a set of three cards for extra armies: three of a kind, one of each, or any two with a wild. Sets are worth 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17, then 3 more each time. Holding 5 or more cards forces a trade.
If a traded card shows a territory you own, 3 bonus armies are placed there.
Tap your territories to place armies. Choose 1, 5 or all at a time.
2 · Attack
Pick one of your territories with at least 2 armies, then an adjacent enemy. Dashed lines are sea lanes; Klondike and Chukotka connect across the map edge.
Attack with up to 3 dice (one fewer than your armies); the defender rolls up to 2. Highest dice are compared in pairs and ties go to the defender.
Blitz keeps rolling until you win or are down to one army.
When you take a territory, move in at least as many armies as dice you rolled. Eliminate a player to take their cards.
3 · Fortify
Make one move between two of your territories joined by a chain of your own territories, then your turn ends.
Conquer at least one territory during your turn to earn a card.
Computer opponents
Tap Human or CPU next to each name when setting up. You can mix both, or let the computers play each other.
Easy computers attack only with big advantages; Normal and Hard chase regions, cards and weak players, and Hard takes riskier attacks.
Change how fast computers play with the speed buttons shown during their turns. Their cards stay hidden.

Drag or pinch to move and zoom the map; use the mouse wheel on desktop. Keyboard: Tab to reach a territory and Enter to select it, R roll, B blitz, N next phase, U undo, Esc cancel, +/−/0 zoom. The game saves itself on this device after every move.
